Abstract

Teacher training is seen as an essential practice for the advancement of education. In the face of ongoing sociocultural transformations and changes in the educational landscape, it is essential to provide teachers with resources that encourage them to reframe their teaching practices. In this context, the aim of this study is to contribute to reflection on the relevance of developing continuing teacher training based on meaningful learning and active teaching‐learning methodologies. A theoretical study was carried out using documentary analysis and a bibliographical review of the literature. The arguments presented can encourage the incorporation of the perspective of meaningful learning and active methodologies into training processes, enhancing changes that can reflect positively on the quality of the work carried out in the classroom.

    Licenciado em Biologia (2004) pela Universidade Estadual de Goiás (UEG); Especialista em Biologia Vegetal (2006) pela Universidade Estadual de Goiás (UEG); Mestre em Botânica (2008) pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB), Doutor em Ecologia (2013) pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB) e Doutorado Sanduíche pela University of Oxford e Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (2012). Professor titular da Universidade Estadual de Goiás (UEG), Coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação Mestrado Profissional em Ensino de Ciências (PPEC/UEG - 2019-2024) com enfoque na formação de recursos com enfoque em estudos de formação de professores, Metodologias Ativas de Ensino e Aprendizagem Significativa; Atua com formação de professores, Metodologias Ativas e Aprendizagem Significativa; possui vários anos de experiência como coordenador de projeto PIBID-Biologia/CAPES (Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação a Docência).
