Abstract

The article reflects on the role of literature in schools. The general objective is to conceptualize literature and the
more specific ones are to understand how it is discussed by authors, the importance of language and the
relationship between what is available in basic education schools and what could be studied in terms of literature,
safeguarding it as a human right. The methodology was bibliographical research on authors such as Todorov (2021), Frye (2017), Schiller (1989) and Candido (2011), among others. The conclusion is that, more than a teaching tool, literature constitutes man and humanizes him.

  • Simone Jesus, Universidade Federal de Goiás - UFG.

    Concluiu o curso de Magistério, no Colégio Municipal Jarbas Jayme, em 1999. Possui Graduação em Letras Português/Inglês, pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás (2000/2004) e Pedagogia, pela Faculdade Alfredo Nasser (2010/2014). Possui também Especialização em Formação de Professores - área de concentração: Letras (português), pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás (2004/2005) e Especialização em Psicologia dos Processos Educativos, pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (2014/2015). Mestre em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (2017/2019). Doutoranda em Educação, pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (2020 - cursando). É concursada na Rede Municipal de Ensino de Aparecida de Goiânia desde 2002 e atualmente trabalha na Secretaria Municipal de Educação, Cultura e Turismo, na Coordenadoria de Programas, Projetos Educacionais e Prestação de Contas. Tem experiência com aulas de Língua Portuguesa e Língua Inglesa, Formação de Professores, Elaboração de Diretrizes de Organização de Rede e Curricular, e desenvolvimento de pesquisa na área de Literatura, Regionalismo e temas voltados à Educação.
